2013 Consumer Electronics Show

I’m packing to go to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2013 in Las Vegas. I’ll be joining two techie compatriots to drive across the great barren state of Nevada for 8 hours. We should arrive in plenty of time to join the nice folks at AMD (one of the best known video card and processor makers) for a pre-CES peek at what they’ll be rolling out at the show at their Monday night party.

To my pleasant surprise, Jamie Davis (www.mediccast.com or @podmedic on Twitter) will be podcasting from the digital health events at CES. We’re planning a meetup and I’ll get introduced to a couple of his colleagues. I’ll also get another chance to bump elbows with the great Chuck Wilson (@g1159bw on Twitter) and his arm candy, Wendi Pickford (@wendiworm on Twitter).

I’ll be tweeting (@unwiredmedic and @fotomedic) some of the great finds I come across, and my favorite finds will be blogged about in greater detail here. Maybe this year, the manufacturers who promised to let me demo some devices this past year will remember a lowly little blogger like me and send some gear my way to demo. I have plans to see what Seal Shield has new and in store for us, along with Xi3, who have both invited me to stop by for demos. I’d like to see some of these much raved about Micro 4/3 camera systems. I expect I’ll see another 14,999 companies with iPhone cases, all better and more unique-er-er than their competitors’ unique cases. There’s always prizes at the vendor giveaways, and I usually win something. Last year, I won a Pelican case and a Kindle Fire and a home network attached storage system that is compatible with gaming consoles as well as computers.

Is there anything you heard would be at CES that you want to know more about while I’m there? I’ll be happy to drop by and see what info I can abscond with.
